Noah's Ark and Strike Animal Welfare Society Partnership

Noah's Ark and Strike Animal Welfare Society (SAWS) Partnership

Keep the people of Bacoor safe from stray animals with rabies, and provide protection for maltreated animals. These are the goals of non-government organization non-profit Strike Animal Welfare Society or SAWS.
Noah's Ark and Strike Animal Welfare Society Partnership
Named after Bacoor Mayor Strike Revilla for his dedication to implement the animal welfare act, SAWS was established in September 2009. The group built a pound-cum-animal shelter that helps incarcerate animals that may carry deadly rabies. It also serves as a temporary shelter for dogs, cats and other animals rescued from cruelty, abandonment or neglect.

The aim of the shelter is to rehabilitate these animals and eventually find them loving homes with adopted owners.

Now more stray animals in the City of Bacoor will have better services even in rehabilitation, as SAWS is chosen as the beneficiary of Noah’s Ark Pet Columbaria- the very first columbaria in the Philippines.

Last June 18, the contract was signed between SAWS, represented by Mayor Strike Revilla and SAWS director Aileen de Guzman, and Noah’s Ark founder and president Tetet Zapanta-Huit.

While SAWS tries to provide care and affection for neglected animals, Noah’s Ark aims to give the same to animals that have passed on.

[Noah’s Ark] is a haven that provides dignity to our beloved pets and memorializes the families' years of unconditional love and devotion. It will exist to provide a memorial and final resting place for our beloved pets,” says Zapanta- Huit.

The garden themed pet columbaria will consist of 4000 vaults than can each fit ashes of dogs, cats and pocket pets. Owners of larger animals like horses may place their animal’s urns in three to four adjacent vaults.

The client has the option to place an urn in the niche initially and reserve the remaining spot for the pets they have at home. The client may also have the option to purchase a single vault as bonery for a single pet if they don’t want their pets cremated,” adds Zapanta-Huit.

With the partnership sealed, proceeds for every vault bought in Noah’s Ark will be donated to SAWS for the betterment of its pound and shelter facilities.

SAWS thanks BM Cremations INC, mother company of Noah’s Ark, and lauds its initiative of sharing the columbaria’s proceeds to benefit the animals rescued by SAWS as well as its effort to support the plight of animal welfare organizations in the Philippines.

SAWS and Noah’s Ark both see a great future in their common goal of protecting the rights of animals –owned or stray, and providing them with the love and affection they deserve in life and when they pass on.
